Description
Pinzon Petali earthenware enhances any tabletop with fresh, subtle color. The Petali, or "petals", pattern was designed exclusively for Pinzon by Caleca, a company renowned for making unique Italian ceramics. Pinzon Petali dinnerware reflects the beauty of spring and summer and is entirely hand painted, using non-toxic colors, by skilled decorators. This 8-inch round casserole features a white interior; the exterior features a sky-blue border, green outline, and delicate floral design that blends with any decor. It's constructed of durable high-fired earthenware coated in a lustrous, lead-free glaze that resists warping and cracking. The casserole measures 5 inches high and is ideal for preparing and ceremoniously serving a dish such as baked pasta or braised short ribs. Complement the casserole with Pinzon's Petali place settings, fruit bowls, serveware, and other bakers and casseroles. Pinzon earthenware lives up to the rigors of the microwave, gas or electric oven, and dishwasher. It's made in Italy.

Beautiful, solid dinnerware and the serving accessories are great. I bought a service for 12 as well as the covered casserole dish and other pieces. High fired and lead free glaze, so you can use in microwave or oven up to 480-degrees and chip resistant. You can microwave leftovers right on the plate and not worry about it cracking. I love the simple design and soft colors of this set.

This is the first covered casserole dish I've ever owned. I'm 58. I first used it for Thanksgiving Dinner '09. I "Newk" it with water inside to warm it up, then dump out the water & put in the veggies... Keeps the food warm the whole dinner with the top on. It looks good, functions perfectly & is a sight more sophisticated than a saucepan on the table. 5 stars for appearance, ease of use, cleaning & care, & functionality. I have the "Pinzon", which is the more durable stoneware (which I actually prefer). The "Petali" is the more expensive but more fragile china class of pottery.

at the first use for making soup, cracked into pieces in around 2 min after put it on stove. Cost me more than 20 minutes to clean up the stove.
